About the Speaker

Co-founder and CEO of Nest Payroll. We're on a mission to make it insanely easy to legally pay the people who work in our homes, like nannies, housekeepers and caregivers. Keeping families compliant with the law, while enabling employees to build up social security and Medicare credits so they have a better future. This may sound basic, but for household employees it’s rare. Only about 5%-10% are paid legally, and we’re here to transform that. Previous work includes multifaceted marketing programs at Intuit and Financial Engines. Also an accomplished Interior Architect.

IN THIS SESSION YOU WILL LEARN

Find out how and why it's important to pay nannies, caregivers and
housekeepers on the books.

You are an employer in the eyes of the IRS when you have a nanny, caregiver or housekeeper because of the work relationship. Besides being the law, paying on the books provides many social and economic benefits to both sides. Budget about 10% of the wages you pay to cover the employer costs, and there are tax breaks that may help you break even. There are great resources today that make it easy to stay compliant and legal.
